Our team in the SDG Space Sector’s Actuation and Avionics Business Unit is looking for a Product Engineer to support production programs of both Hydraulic and Mechanical actuators on 2nd shift. This person should be a self-starter and be able to be efficient with minimal direction. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and expected to be the technical point of contact in many areas, mainly in production test support. The role of a Product Engineer is a challenging position for someone keen to leading the development and production of space flight hardware in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry
  • General knowledge in the areas of Test Equipment, NC’s / EHRs, LEAN, and Data Acquisition and Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to provide required support for production programs.
  • Provide direction to Technicians as well as coordinate with Program Management, Quality, Project Engineering, and Design Engineering to maintain high integrity products.
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, development, and test of complex hardware used on commercial and NASA vehicles.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver space-rated hardware to the customer.
  • Identify and execute plans to improve cost and schedule on development and production programs.
  • Generate technical data, reports, and procedures for assigned programs.
  • Collaborate with other Moog resources to resolve production problems and perform Material Review Board (MRB) analyses.
  • Evaluate, sustain, implement, and improve assembly & test methods, fixtures, and test equipment necessary for product delivery.
