The Product Engineer applies engineering principles and analytical techniques to the design and/or development of product concepts, components, or assemblies. The Product Engineer will be responsible for process, material and product development targeted toward development and launch of new product programs for Magna Exteriors.

  • Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • BS degree in related field, or equivalent job experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of diversified engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support program management in product and process development including prototype tooling and builds.
  • Create & execute goals, timing and cost for project(s).
  • Communicate/coordinate projects between program management, engineering, customer representatives and corporate representative.
  • Assist in material procurement and support for prototype build operations in coordination with divisional resources.
  • Identifies design work and creates design specifications for a variety of complex product components to obtain operational, cost, quality, and/or manufacturing feasibility improvements.
  • Analyzes complex design problems and formulates engineering conclusions by the application of engineering and/or mathematical principles.
  • Consults with personnel in various engineering activities relative to the design, drafting, and experimental construction of product components.
  • Provides technical support and follow-up on Design/Product Validation activities.
  • Travel as necessary to support Division and OEM launch activities or part development.
  • Provides engineering direction and support to design personnel.
  • Responsible for implementation of Customer Specific Requirement per OEM as required.
  • Refer to Quality per QSR handbook on the E&I web.
  • Create and maintain DFMEA, DVP, Open Issue Lists and Timelines as.
  • Support requests of program management as needed.
  • Represent our company professionally, and with a high level of integrity and enthusiasm.
  • Develop customer relationships that support our ability to be successful.
  • Effectively network and communicate to utilize resources within the company.
  • Effective Communication with Employees, Managers, Divisions and Customers.
  • Other job duties as and/or assigned.
