About The Position

The Product Engineer will perform design of product and process activities in support of new product development and product line sustainment for medium and high voltage switchgear products. Primary focus is MV/HV Switchgear or similar components. Responsibilities include creating, updating, and reviewing design content requirements including but not limited to 3D models and associated 2D drawings, technical specifications, reliability calculations, multiphysics simulations, tolerance stack up, DFMEA, DFMA, and Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R). The role also involves initiating and managing engineering changes and their required peer review for associated design content, identifying Design to Value initiatives for parts, assemblies, and processes, and reviewing customer specifications and requirements to evaluate design requirements. The engineer will work with quality and manufacturing teams to sustain existing products and commercialize new products, provide technical assistance to Applications, Process, and Quality Engineering, and assist in product training activities that may involve internal staffing or customer training events. Travel requirements involve off-site testing of products, marketing support, field review of product applications or training activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline
  • Master of Science in electrical engineering
  • Solidworks and/or Autodesk Inventor Experience
  • Simulation software experience - Ansys, Comsol, Simulia or other
  • 3D CAD experience, with the ability to create and manipulate drawings
  • 5 years of experience in design in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel on business related trips
  • Ability to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medium/high voltage switchgear engineering
  • Experience with Altium PCB design Software
  • Experience with motor control and RTU communication
  • Experience in design of analog circuits
