About The Position

If you don't know us yet, GMV ITS North America is a leading provider of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) serving transit agencies, universities and private operators across the country. We collect GPS and other sensor data from buses, shuttles, trolleys and other moving vehicles and then transport it via cellular networks to our back-end systems for real-time aggregation, analytics, alerting and reporting. All of this information is used by dispatchers, transit planners and the riding public to make transit systems more accessible to riders, and run more efficiently for operators. Join us and be part of our highly talented and innovative team, where you will be contributing in a significant way to customer facing features on our system. If you take pleasure in pixel perfect UI design and thinking through UX implications while troubleshooting complex challenges, this job is for you. The role is heavily web focused to start with opportunities to gain experience across our tech stack over time.   Start off in engineering, learning our languages and environments for about two weeks. If this looks like a long-term fit, then you'll stay here for the rest of your engagement, contributing directly to the products we build. You will be involved in the following activities:  Enhance existing tooling such as GTFS-RT parsers and validators Build new internal tools, including but not limited to a contact manager Contribute to UI updates in back-end administrative systems Write and validate code tests Contribute to React Native apps for riders and supervisors Otherwise, you'll spend two weeks each in other areas of the company for the remainder of your first two months. Product management, sales, and customer support. After the first 8 weeks of rotation, you will be placed in one of those departments for the remaining 4 months of the engagement, where you'll contribute to the operations and delivery of our products and services.

Requirements

  • Experience or interest in learning React or C# development
  • Active pursuit of a computer science, urban planning, or other degree related to our field of work
  • High quality written communication, we test this with cover letters and other writing samples

Responsibilities
