The Product Engineer (PE) Intern will work within a cross-functional business team, collaborating with Product and Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams. This position offers hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting faucets and related plumbing products. Throughout the internship, the PE Intern will work closely with a New Product Development team to ensure product quality and performance. The intern will work alongside Product Engineers responsible for various brand and product portfolios, ranging from faucet assemblies to accessories and repair components, and a Sr. Project Engineer will provide direct mentorship and guidance. As a PE Intern, you'll attend team meetings, prepare test reports and presentations, assist in product design, and help achieve key team goals. Assignments are project-based, allowing interns to manage their own tasks while gaining exposure to different business functions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • The ideal candidate will be entering their senior year with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A detail-oriented and proactive mindset, eager to learn and take on challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, specifying, and implementing new product development projects.
  • Support product quality improvements, cost reductions, and modifications to meet market and customer needs.
  • Participate in product management tasks, including engineering changes, bill of materials creation, prototype development, and production tooling.
  • Validate changes through the PPAP process and validation testing.
  • Assist with production part approval, product modifications, and evaluation of non-conforming products.
  • Conduct environmental, performance, and accelerated life cycle testing to analyze product reliability.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional product development team.
  • Execute tests following prescribed methods and contribute to the design of specialized test equipment and fixtures.
  • Investigate and analyze customer-returned product failures.
