About The Position

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to join our team. The Product Engineer Intern will get the chance to learn from Product Engineers about Product Innovation’s role in supporting research and development, innovation, and manufacturing efforts at U.S. Pipe while gaining hands-on experience, and work on meaningful projects that make an impact.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as Junior or Senior in an accredited 4-year college pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Materials required.
• Must possess proficiency in drafting, AutoCAD and 2D / 3D Modeling.
• Must have a working knowledge of modern drawing requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
• Must be able to function independent of close supervision, and to interact in cross functional team environment.
• Must possess demonstrable initiative.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, create design proposals, and update performance specifications.
• Perform product and verification testing, creating reports to communicate findings.
• Coordinate with Product Engineers and Operations Team to evaluate development and production costs.
• Assumes responsibility for the accurate and detailed documentation of mechanical products through the creation, modification, and maintenance of product drawings.
• Additional engineering support functions may be required.
