About The Position

This internship is for Summer 2026. The Product Engineering Intern will support the Product Engineering Team in developing innovative, problem-solving solutions for the building industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with window and door products while contributing to projects focused on new product development, product improvements, and cost-savings initiatives. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining exposure to design, testing, and manufacturing processes. This role provides meaningful, real-world project experience, along with visibility across the organization. Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or higher.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Solid Works preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of new products.
  • Support engineers in analyzing current products and maintaining specifications.
  • Participate in reviewing and researching new product concepts to determine feasibility.
  • Assist in ensuring products comply with industry certification standards related to performance, safety, structural integrity, and energy efficiency (e.g. AAMA, WDMA, NAMI, CSA, NFRC, IGMA).
  • Prepare and update drawings, schematics, technical documentation, and work instructions under engineer guidance.
  • Support documentation and execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Non-Standard Product Requests.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with engineering, manufacturing, and other business teams.
  • Gain exposure to manufacturing environments by supporting new product launches, audits, and production troubleshooting.
  • Support voice-of-customer activities and continuous improvement (kaizen) exercises.
  • Accompany engineers on site visits to observe field testing, customer service activities, or installation practices.
