About The Position

Klein Tools is a dynamic, fast-paced and results driven company dedicated to launching hundreds of innovative products each year. This position is a supporting role where the individual is responsible for performing engineering analysis to define design requirements, review suitability of materials, and feasibility of proposed processes under daily direction. The role requires solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and principles with a good general understanding of various material properties. As individual experience grows, the individual may be responsible for acting as the Project Leader to successfully guide projects through our phase gate process. Responsibilities include preparing and routing product documentation including detailed drawings, Bill Of Materials (BOM's), specifications, and inspection criteria as directed. The individual will also carry out proposed routings, BOM's, and cost estimates for completing the proposed project, fulfill benchmark evaluation of competitive or proposed new products, and participate in resolving engineering design, product quality, and testing issues. Additionally, the role involves designing, developing prototypes, and testing product components, sub-systems, and fixturing while applying principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, and/or industrial engineering analysis and findings. The individual will write technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings, prioritize work to align with departmental goals, and maintain close contact with associated engineering groups and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering Degree with three (3) years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• CAD experience required (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong team focus and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities
