The Need For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Product Development Specialist. The Product Development Specialist is responsible for curating and managing program resources to support worldwide marketing and fundraising teams. This role will curate and write proposal and impact report source content and serve as the main point of contact for IJM interventions, impact and progress showcasing the breadth of IJM’s work globally. Their work will translate IJM’s ongoing impact for our biggest partners and investors and for advancement and marketing teams globally, and they will serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Revenue Resources by partnering on critical global investment opportunities. By playing an essential role in building out investment resources, this role will help fuel the movement of justice and raise awareness of IJM’s work. This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Director of Revenue Resources and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or other
  • 2+ years experience in marketing, communications, creative, writing, fundraising
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation, proposal or grant writing, technical writing, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills tailoring content to intended audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle several strategic priorities at once
  • Adept at relationship building with internal and external IJM stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with, ability to track and disseminate communications trends and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within International Development sector preferred

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in communicating IJM’s vision and mission, values, and strategic program priorities to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.
  • Be an expert in IJM’s projects, interventions and impact in order to communicate about them effectively for our global fundraising and marketing teams.
  • Curate action-oriented source materials with ability to tailor content according to external audience insights.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and experts.
  • Stay up-to-date and responsive to organizational programmatic priorities and adjustments.
  • Maintain a content library and related documentation to include packaged templates and responses to various requests from high-value donors.
  • Maintain Revenue Resources procedures and rhythms with internal stakeholders to deliver excellent internal customer experiences.
  • Keep an eye toward improvement and suggest recommendations for efficiencies and increased output within Revenue Resources.
  • Write and edit high-quality tailored source content, obtained through interviewing technical experts.
  • Draft communications that align with IJM voice in style, grammar, punctuation, content, spelling, readability, and clarity.
  • Respond promptly to day-to-day email, phone, and online communication.
  • Meet regularly with internal stakeholders to stay abreast of progress across IJM projects and priorities.
  • Actively manage responsible project tasks within a work management software system.
  • Follow-up with colleagues on deliverables and coordinate further needs to complete a project or request.
