About The Position

This role is responsible for contributing to all phases of new product development and product reformulation processes from concept to consumer. This individual must be innovative and creative with a keen awareness of global color and industry trends. This position requires a solid understanding of product development fundamentals with an expertise in prestige color cosmetics along with the ability to apply strategic thinking throughout ideation and conceptualization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years color prestige color cosmetics product development experience
  • Passionate about the beauty industry
  • Demonstrated skills with project management and knowledge of new product development lifecycle
  • Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes and quickly adapts to change in priorities
  • Proven ability to take complicated information and summarize the key messages for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast⁃paced, often⁃changing, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Follow trends, recent competitive launches & research ingredient stories to create competitive analysis to ensure all project ideas/concepts meet the brand's key identity, as well as stays relevant in a vast and growing industry
  • Track & take notes in all meetings for internal & external team alignment and reference
  • Assist team with pulling shade prototypes and lineups for programs
  • Attend vendor presentations & assist team with evaluating all samples
  • Contribute to tracking all stages of new product development from concepting, brief writing, communicating with lab on submissions, communicating with internal/crossfunctional stakeholders on development, evaluating submissions, formula approval and through commercialization
  • Log, label and organize all product submissions
  • Coordinate and organize clinical and sensory test samples
  • Coordinate and organize Internal Panel Tests
  • Pull products and set up for all meeting requests
  • Evaluate all 1st Production batches and re⁃establish Production Standards
  • Evaluate all finished goods retains to ensure quality is on par
  • Create and present Seasonal Mood boards to Senior Management
  • May be required to travel to labs internationally and domestically to help establish and approve shade lineups
  • Review product swatches, product application & product imagery with the Photography team to ensure that it is accurate and representative
  • Provide/find Pantones, Shade Descriptions for all Complexion programs
  • Lead and coordinate all sampling needs
  • Purchasing and maintaining the competitive library
