(Paid Internship) - Product Development (Sabel Digital Labs)
About The Position
We are seeking a curious, motivated Product Development Intern to join Sabel Digital Labs (SDL)—our innovation-focused software and solution development team. This internship is ideal for students interested in software engineering, application development, and modern digital solutions who want hands-on experience contributing to real products used by government and industry customers. As a member of SDL, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and product team members in an Agile environment, gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle while building technical and professional skills that translate directly to real-world engineering roles.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- This role is not eligible for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), or other student visa-based work authorizations
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, entering your junior or senior year, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Foundational understanding of programming concepts and interest in software development
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate clearly
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar)
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum concepts through coursework or projects
- Interest in secure systems, cloud-based applications, or DevSecOps practices
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and enhancement of software applications and digital solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other team members during Agile development sprints.
- Assist with backlog grooming, user story refinement, and sprint planning activities.
- Support development efforts across front-end, back-end, or full-stack components, depending on your interests and skills.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to support high-quality, secure solutions.
- Learn and apply best practices related to secure software development, version control, and modern development tools.
