About The Position

The UAS / C-UAS Product Development & Integration Engineer serves as a technical lead responsible for the research, development, integration, testing, and operational validation of next-generation small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS) and counter-UAS (C-UAS) capabilities. This role operates at the intersection of engineering execution, rapid prototyping, and mission-driven system design, ensuring platforms and integrated technologies deliver reliable, scalable, and tactically relevant capabilities in contested and operationally realistic environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in UAS, C-UAS, or integration engineering
  • Experience with system-level integration
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, including 3D printing and CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to travel (25%)

  • Experience in contested environments
  • Background in autonomy or AI systems
  • Military or operational UAS experience
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools

Responsibilities

  • UAS / C-UAS Capability Development: Lead development and integration of sUAS and C-UAS systems
  • Translate operational requirements into engineering solutions
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies across autonomy, sensing, and communications
  • Product Requirements & Technical Documentation: Develop and manage PRDs and ICDs
  • Define performance thresholds and operational use cases
  • Maintain traceability between requirements and validation
  • Human-Machine Interface & System Integration: Lead HMIF development and integration
  • Optimize operator workflows and system usability
  • Ensure interoperability across systems
  • RDT&E, Experimentation, and Validation: Lead RDT&E activities across UAS/C-UAS platforms
  • Design and execute integration test plans
  • Analyze test data and drive system improvements
  • Support experimentation events and demonstrations
  • C-UAS Integration & Mission Systems: Integrate detection, tracking, and mitigation capabilities
  • Enable interoperability with C2 systems and networks
  • Prototyping & Engineering Development: Develop and iterate rapid prototypes to support capability development and integration
  • Utilize additive manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing, to design, fabricate, and test components and subsystems
  • Create and modify mechanical designs using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
  • Support hardware design refinement through iterative prototyping and testing cycles
  • Transition to Production: Transition validated capabilities into production
  • Integrate third-party technologies
  • Support fielding and operational deployment
