About The Position

This position leads the development, commercialization, and Production of new and existing products and equipment for Stasis Drilling Solutions, with primary focus on actuated and automation valves, chokes, pressure-control equipment, and related electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems used across drilling, completions, and production applications. The role requires a lean approach focusing on structure, velocity, prioritization, and execution discipline to the product development process—from concept and design through prototype, validation, production readiness, launch, and sustainment. This leader coordinates cross-functional teams across multiple locations, aligns technical execution with business priorities, and helps ensure new products are designed for performance, manufacturability, serviceability, quality, and commercial success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product development, new product introduction, manufacturing engineering, or product line leadership for oilfield equipment or comparable industrial equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading cross-functional engineering or product development programs involving multiple stakeholders, locations, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience with pressure-containing or pressure-control equipment, including valves, chokes, actuation systems, or comparable mechanical systems used in demanding industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic system design considerations as applied to equipment development and product integration.
  • Experience taking products from concept through design, prototype, testing, validation, first article, pre-production, and full production release.
  • Ability to structure and lead stage-gate or similar development processes, including scope definition, schedule management, risk management, resource planning, and budget control.
  • Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturing, design-for-assembly, serviceability, field support needs, and lifecycle sustainment requirements.
  • Working knowledge of applicable quality and compliance frameworks such as API Q1, ISO 9001, design verification, technical documentation control, and product qualification practices.
  • Strong commercial and operational judgment, including experience evaluating outsourcing decisions, supplier capability, cost tradeoffs, and time-to-market impacts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project management tools; able to review technical documentation, drawings, schedules, and performance metrics effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to align engineers, operations personnel, leadership, suppliers, and customers around priorities and deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drilling, completions, production, managed pressure drilling, or well control equipment markets.
  • Experience working with API 6A, 16C, 6D, or similar specifications and associated qualification / licensing environments.
  • Background in both product development and manufacturing / operations leadership within an oilfield equipment business.
  • Experience building or improving project management systems, KPI dashboards, and portfolio governance for engineering organizations.
  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or stage-gate portfolio management training or practical application.
  • Familiarity with automation, controls integration, instrumentation, or test stand controls for industrial equipment.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, engineering management, business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development and major product upgrades for oilfield equipment, including actuated and automation of 6A, 16C, and 6D valves and chokes, as well as related pressure-control equipment and support systems.
  • Drive a structured stage-gate / new product introduction process that defines project scope, milestones, deliverables, technical risks, budget expectations, and schedule accountability for each development effort.
  • Increase speed to market by prioritizing high-value projects, removing execution bottlenecks, and maintaining a clear cadence of design reviews, project updates, risk reviews, and budget reviews.
  • Translate field feedback, operational experience, customer needs, and competitive insights into product requirements that improve functionality, reliability, maintainability, and market fit.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, automation, controls, production, quality, supply chain, field operations, and service to ensure aligned execution from concept through release.
  • Determine the appropriate balance of in-house work versus outsourced engineering, analysis, prototyping, and fabrication while retaining critical product knowledge and design intent within Stasis.
  • Oversee prototype planning, test article development, qualification testing, and validation programs to confirm product performance, reliability, safety, and production.
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, sales and QA/QC teams to establish clear handoff criteria from prototype to first article, pre-production, and full production, with emphasis on repeatability and quality.
  • Support the development of test infrastructure, fixtures, and control systems needed to efficiently validate new products and accelerate learning cycles.
  • Ensure technical documentation is complete and release-ready, including drawings, bills of material, test plans, validation records, design reviews, operating limits, and manufacturing support documentation.
  • Provide portfolio-level leadership, mentorship, and execution discipline across parallel product development efforts, including close coordination with adjacent engineering leaders and product-line functions.
  • Support applicable certification, quality, and compliance strategies for new products, including design verification, documentation, and readiness for relevant API, customer, and internal requirements.
  • Assist with business cases, cost targets, sourcing strategies, and product launch planning so that technical decisions support commercial objectives and long-term product sustainability.
