About The Position

The Product Development Engineer for Vokey Wedges at Acushnet Company plays a crucial role in the design and engineering of golf clubs, specifically focusing on the development of Vokey Wedges. In this role, the engineer will work closely with management and the Concept Development team to evaluate project opportunities systematically, aligning them with the critical path schedule for production programs. The position allows for a degree of autonomy in decision-making, enabling the engineer to take un-reviewed actions when necessary. The engineer will also provide project management and technical support throughout the development of new golf club designs and products, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. The engineer will be responsible for coordinating the development of golf clubs, emphasizing the integration of concept development technologies with Industrial and Graphic Design considerations. This includes managing communication processes, schedules, and deliverables from the design phase through to manufacturing, ensuring that products are launched on time. Collaboration with Asia-based suppliers is essential, as the engineer will need to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the development process. This may involve travel to Asia to facilitate product design and development, allowing for direct communication and collaboration with suppliers. Additionally, the engineer will pursue patents related to their projects, maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art materials and processes, and stay informed about USGA regulations and competitive specifications. They will also conduct testing and analysis for product validation, coordinate the release of engineering documentation, and work with the Quality team to implement acceptable quality criteria for production. Overall, this position is integral to the success of Acushnet's product development efforts, contributing to the company's mission of enriching the golfing experience through superior product performance and innovation.
