About The Position

As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by being part of a team to design and commercialize hardgoods products and systems for the Reusable and Powered Air Purifying Respirators. You will design concepts of mechanical components meeting product performance, reliability and robustness requirements, manufacturing processes and safety guidelines of personal protective equipment. Additionally, you will maintain products for continuous improvement, perform robustness analysis of prototype designs, and develop product build documentation to support manufacturing.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field of Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Product design.
  • Experience in designing respiratory electro-mechanical components using CAD tools such as Creo, NX, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of material properties and design guidelines of various mechanical components.
  • Ability to follow Design for Manufacturability and Assembly principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using computer simulation tools to test and optimize designs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical hardgoods systems.
  • Strong communication skills to present conceptual ideas effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design and commercialize hardgoods products and systems for Reusable and Powered Air Purifying Respirators.
  • Design mechanical components meeting product performance, reliability, and robustness requirements.
  • Maintain products for continuous improvement, including altering parts or materials.
  • Perform robustness analysis of prototype designs and incorporate results to develop the final product.
  • Initiate and maintain bills of materials and release mechanical drawings to support prototype and pilot builds.
  • Perform mechanical verification tests per specifications and write test reports.
  • Analyze production level products to improve manufacturability and/or function.
  • Develop a global network across R&D, regulatory, supply chain, marketing, and application engineering teams.
