About The Position

The Product Development Chemist at Hydrite is responsible for providing technical assistance to the company and its customers. This role involves preparing samples and formulations, conducting tests, and analyzing data to support product development initiatives. The chemist will uphold quality standards, conduct research, and collaborate with various departments to ensure successful product outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years professional laboratory or plant experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Minitab, JMP, Design-Expert, and electronic lab notebook skills is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a pilot lab environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Technology Group, Sales, customers, Operations, SQRA, and Procurement through testing, data gathering and processing, formula and sample preparation, and statistical analysis.
• Conduct research, competitive analysis, formulation of new products, and comparative performance analysis.
• Complete lab requests as assigned, including raw material evaluations.
• Prepare samples for customers and field trials.
• Document all lab work thoroughly in laboratory notebook.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing laboratory work and findings.
• Provide all necessary information for the development of product masters.
• Implement continuous improvement through product and process evaluation.
• Practice safe laboratory techniques.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation in good working order.
