Product Development Verification and Validation Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the Dearborn office. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Dearborn, MI. Develop and implement hardware and software tools and processes that enable efficient vehicle testing. Develop software tools for data acquisition and post-processing. Validate ADAS features to support development of verification methods including vehicle testing, hardware-in-the-loop, vehicle in-the-loop, and other advanced testing methodologies. Ensure readiness of all test vehicles. Plan and complete vehicle software updates. Resolve feature functionality issues on test vehicles. Domestic Travel Required up to 20%. Physical work location is 20600 Oakwood Blvd – part of same complex as the address listed at end of this posting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing automotive OBD2 functions and tools, specifically Vector and DET. 2. Analyzing data from automotive control systems and CAN network for function/performance validation or troubleshooting. 3. Utilizing instrumentation for data collection during automotive testing.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Testing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems for verification and validation of feature function and performance. 2. Writing software scripts using MATLAB, Python, or C++ for test data analysis. 3. Hands-on troubleshooting of full vehicle prototypes and associated sub-systems.
