About The Position

The Conair Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exceptional students interested in a career in CPG with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the diverse business operations at Conair. Those selected will gain invaluable work experience through challenging project assignments and on the job learning experiences. As a Product Developer Intern for the Cuisinart brand, you’ll jump into the early-stage product development cycle—helping shape ideas, define functional prototypes, and partner cross-functionally to bring intuitive kitchen innovations from sketch to specification in a collaborative and fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • Rising senior majoring in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong curiosity about consumer behavior, kitchen tools, and product innovation
  • Proficiency or familiarity with sketching, 2D/3D visualization or CAD tools
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment with multiple streams and rapid iteration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present and collaborate effectively
  • You should be a current college student, entering your senior year in the fall of 2026.
  • The internship program will run from June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Interns will work Monday through Friday on a 37.5-hour work week schedule, which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
  • We require candidates to maintain excellent academic standing.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, is a must.
  • As part of our hybrid work model, interns are expected to be present in the office 4 days a week with Friday being a work from anywhere day.
  • Conair does not provide housing for summer interns.
  • Compensation for all internship positions is set at $25 per hour, and the internship is based out of our Stamford, CT or Newton, MA office locations.

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the office 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday with Friday being a work from anywhere day.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in ideation sessions and concept‐generation activities to support new Cuisinart product lines at the concept phase
  • Translate user insights, trend research and competitive benchmarking into rough sketches, mood boards or concept visuals
  • Assist in creating and refining low- and mid-fidelity prototypes (physical mock-ups, CAD models, renderings) to clarify design intent
  • Liaise with product development, engineering, marketing and quality teams to ensure early concepts reflect feasibility, cost, ergonomics and consumer delight
  • Support documentation of design intent—finish/color/graphics, accessory interfaces, fit/form—and help prepare specification packages for hand-off to engineering
  • Monitor and summarize early feedback from consumer research, usability studies or prototype testing to refine concept direction
