About The Position

The Product Development Engineer II is responsible to design and build product prototypes to meet customer requirements and MICRO quality standards. The Product Development Engineer II is expected to: · Complete projects on time and budget per customer requirements · Produce products that meet customer functional requirements and expectations with minimal customer complaints · Meet or exceed the department financial plan · Perform DFM activity to resolve customer design challenges · Interacts with customers on a technical level and other technical personnel to assist with the development and design for manufacturing of products. · Works on complex projects and assists manager with price estimates. · Identifies and develops manufacturing processes, equipment and technologies to be used for new products and cost improvement projects · Designs prototypes, tooling and assembly equipment · Oversees and monitors the fabrication of prototype and tooling to ensure all customer quality and delivery requirements are met · Interacts with and instructs toolmakers on development of tooling to achieve desired results · Conducts Engineering Studies and analyzes data · Directs the validation activities of new tools and processes · Provides input to the production control systems and designs control activities · Provides input for new product equipment selection, installation and maintenance · Works with internal resources and external suppliers to obtain products and services needed to develop the product · Troubleshoots issues and completes projects independently. · Oversees level 1 engineers This position has no talent management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 4-7 years of engineering experience is required.
