About The Position

At Sierra, we're building a platform to enable every company in the world to build their own autonomous AI agents for everything from customer service to commerce. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices in Atlanta and London. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google's AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in UI/UX design, leading design projects from ideation to launch.
• Passion for deeply understanding user needs and finding the right solutions from first principles.
• Fluency in creating beautiful, high-quality designs, working end-to-end from shaping product direction to defining interactions.
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate problems, design concepts, and decisions to various stakeholders.
• Experience in gathering customer feedback, usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
• Mastery of Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with strong prototyping skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience designing for AI-driven products or conversational interfaces.
• Experience working on developer-driven products, including SDKs, APIs, and technical tooling.
• Experience with Typescript, React, and other programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Solve for the customer by serving multiple stakeholders with unique needs and product challenges.
• Innovate by discovering new tools and processes for building AI agents.
• Drive the entire design process from concept to execution to iteration in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Partner closely with engineering, product, leadership, and the entire company to define and build a seamless and cohesive experience.
• Gather customer feedback and conduct usability testing to iterate and solve user problems effectively.
• Develop and maintain a scalable design system that ensures consistency and efficiency across all products and platforms.
