About The Position

It's a new day with a new opportunity at 8am! About the role: As a Product Designer at 8am, you will play a central role in shaping how legal, accounting, and other professional firms manage and grow their businesses. You will take ownership of meaningful product areas, designing intuitive, trustworthy, and efficient workflows that sit at the core of our fintech platform. You will collaborate closely with other designers in your product area to ensure clarity, consistency, and craft across the platform. You will work daily with Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, Content Designers, and key business stakeholders to uncover problems, define solutions, and deliver user-centered experiences that support complex financial workflows. Your design decisions will directly influence product-led growth by improving how users activate, adopt, and succeed within our tools. This role is a strong fit for a curious, proactive designer who enjoys solving complex problems, partnering deeply with cross-functional teammates, and elevating both design craft and product outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • You have 2 to 5 years of product or UX design experience and a strong portfolio showcasing your craft, process, and impact across product flows.
  • Experience designing for complex or data-heavy workflows; fintech experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product-led growth outcomes, including activation, onboarding, conversion, or retention.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
  • High proficiency in Figma and familiarity with common research and testing methods, including supporting or running usability tests, participating in interviews, synthesizing insights, and using customer feedback or analytics to inform design decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for SaaS, legaltech, or products supporting professional workflows.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, or data-driven optimization.
  • Experience working with large-scale or multi-product design systems.
  • Exposure to automation or AI-enhanced workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate Impact and Drive Growth Translate business and product objectives into user-centered solutions that directly influence growth metrics such as activation, conversion, retention, and self-serve adoption.
  • Design and iterate on features, including those powered by AI or automation, that deliver clear customer value and improve efficiency.
  • Optimize user journeys to help customers discover, adopt, and gain value from key product capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with other designers to align on direction, patterns, and opportunities to elevate the user experience.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, Content Designers, and key stakeholders throughout the discovery, design, and development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers by providing clear design intent, prototypes, flows, and specifications to support accurate, high-quality implementation.
  • Champion the User Develop a strong understanding of user goals, workflows, and pain points through research collaboration, customer feedback, and product data.
  • Advocate for accessible, intuitive, and consistent experiences that build trust in a fintech environment.
  • Ensure that user needs are addressed through cohesive end-to-end journeys that support clarity, efficiency, and confidence across the platform.
  • Design with Craft and Systems Thinking Create thoughtful design deliverables across the product lifecycle, including concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI.
  • Contribute to the evolution and scaling of our design system, ensuring patterns remain efficient, maintainable, and consistent across teams.
  • Maintain a high bar for visual design, interaction clarity, usability, and polish.
  • Operate with Initiative and Influence Take ownership of your problem spaces and proactively identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve user outcomes.
  • Communicate design decisions and tradeoffs clearly, balancing user needs with business goals and technical considerations.
  • Seek out innovative approaches and contribute new ideas that elevate both the product and the overall quality of design craft, continuously looking for ways to refine, improve, and push the experience forward.
