The M365 Core Design Studio is a global, multidisciplinary team at Microsoft designing the foundational user experiences for Microsoft 365 Copilot. We create human‑centered AI experiences that integrate seamlessly into everyday work across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, drawing on expertise in UX, visual and motion design, prototyping, storytelling, and information architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience
• Applications must include a portfolio demonstrating end‑to-end product thinking, interaction design, and prototyping

Nice To Haves

• Deep proficiency in Figma, including components and interactive prototypes
• Experience shipping products or features through an end‑to-end design process
• Experience designing with AI and/or LLM‑powered experiences
• Well-versed in AI tools and current AI industry trends
• Effective storytelling and presentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners
• Applies AI concepts and tools to design smarter, more adaptive user experiences and to enhance their design process
• Brings momentum to design challenges, carries work through execution, and iterates based on feedback and outcomes
• Delivers polished, user‑centered solutions with attention to detail, usability, accessibility, and implementation quality with a high craft bar
• Thrives in fast‑moving, evolving environments and navigates ambiguity and shifting priorities with focus
• Clearly articulates design decisions and rationale across timezones, and partner teams—both live and async—to maintain speed and alignment
• Builds strong relationships with Product management, Engineering, Research, and Data science to drive aligned, high‑quality outcomes
• Manages multiple priorities and workstreams efficiently while maintaining quality and momentum

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of AI-powered features across M365 products and platforms.
• Translate user needs into clear experience frameworks, user flows, and interaction patterns.
• Collaborate closely with PM, engineering, and research partners to deliver thoughtful, scalable solutions.
• Embrace ambiguity and shifting priorities with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Communicate clearly and consistently across time zones and tools to support async collaboration.
• Share early design explorations to gather feedback and build alignment.
• Participate in design critiques and contribute to a culture of craft, innovation, and user advocacy.
