About The Position

The Product Designer will join Upgrade's New Initiatives team, focusing on the design and delivery of new products, including checking and savings products, home improvement loans, and the mobile app. This role emphasizes quality execution, creative problem-solving, and collaboration across various teams to achieve user and business goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional hands-on Product Design experience.
  • Degree in UCI, UX, Interaction Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience designing in Figma, the team's tool of choice.
  • Ability to collaborate with designers, strategists, managers, and technologists.
  • Strong user-centric mindset and problem-solving mentality.
  • Passion for UX design and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Understanding of design principles and ability to design logical, clean UI.
  • Ability to effectively communicate design rationale to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating passion and excellence in product design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital banking or interest in the fintech space.
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C product design.
  • Experience working on design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and engineering teams to incorporate UI/UX best practices.
  • Design mobile and responsive web experiences for both B2B and B2C products, including checking and savings, home improvement loans, and the mobile app.
  • Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals for features.
  • Utilize data analytics, user testing, and research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Contribute to and maintain the evolving design system to enhance quality and efficiency across teams and products.
  • Help shape the internal design process and culture of the design team.
