The Product Data Scientist Intern will work closely with the Chief Product Officer team on a data research and market analysis project focused on identifying and evaluating reference datasets and emerging data sources that can be integrated into our Geo Addressing platform. They will analyze data quality, coverage, and commercial viability, contributing to the development of our go-to-market (GTM) strategy. This project will provide hands-on experience in data exploration, competitive analysis, and business strategy development, helping shape our approach to new market opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Dataset Evaluation Report: A comprehensive analysis of current reference datasets, assessing their accuracy, completeness, and currency against real-world changes such as urban development, infrastructure updates, and areas affected by natural or political disasters.
  • New Data Source Research & Recommendations: A report identifying potential new datasets, evaluating their coverage, reliability, and commercial viability, and providing recommendations for data acquisition and integration.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: An assessment of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demand for different types of geo addressing data, helping refine our GTM strategy.
  • Data Gap & Risk Assessment: An analysis of gaps in existing datasets and potential risks related to data obsolescence, incomplete coverage, or inaccuracies due to external factors like urban expansion or disaster-related address changes.
  • Presentation of Findings: A final presentation to the team, summarizing key insights, data-driven recommendations, and strategic opportunities based on their research.
