The Product Data Management (PDM) Specialist 1 supports product data management by processing customer-provided data such as: computer aided design (CAD) files, Gerber files, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for assembly instructions for the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing teams. This entry-level role authors accurate build instructions and supports creation of source files for basic machine programming. This role is primarily remote; however, candidates must reside within a commutable distance of any Creation Technologies U.S. site to support occasional on-site collaboration as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, vocational/technical schooling, and/or relevant technical certifications.
  • 1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or manufacturing industry.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD and drawing platforms with ability to perform simple edits.
  • Introductory understanding of configuration management, BOM structuring, and manufacturing document types.
  • Proficiency in Excel for basic data entry and reporting.
  • Basic familiarity with electronic component identification.
  • Basic familiarity with technical documentation such as engineering drawings, engineering specifications documents
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Effective communication skills with comfort in inter-team collaboration.
  • Basic familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Oracle, ABAS, Epicor preferred)
  • Basic familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (Windchill)
  • Familiarity with Aegis FactoryLogix NPI, CircuitCAM, or similar software
  • US Citizen or lawful permanent resident or a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support computer-aided-design, computer-aided-manufacturing (CAD/CAM) data processing by importing and processing customer-provided BOMs, CAD, and Gerber files into Assembly Instruction authoring software and related systems.
  • Create basic assembly instructions and entry-level setup for placement and inspection machine programming (SMT, AOI, X-ray) to support production readiness.
  • Perform basic CAD (e.g. gerbers) edits such as PCB board frames, PCB panelization/array drawing, electronic component footprint adjustments, and polarity checks to ensure accurate assembly work instructions.
  • Maintain document integrity by following established workflows and escalating deviations to senior team members.
  • Communicate with requestors to clarify minor data issues and escalate more complex concerns as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
