About The Position

This role is designed for an experienced legal professional who can provide strategic, practical guidance on product development and regulatory compliance within a fast-growing technology platform. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations teams to translate complex U.S. payments and consumer-protection requirements into actionable product guardrails, customer-facing disclosures, and internal guidance. The position combines hands-on drafting, negotiation, and regulatory counseling with a strategic mindset to scale contracting processes and support business growth. Operating in a fully remote environment, you will have the autonomy to drive decisions, create reusable playbooks, and ensure legal compliance across high-impact initiatives. Your work will directly influence product strategy, operational efficiency, and risk management, making a tangible impact on the company’s success.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure; fintech or tech company experience preferred.
  • Strong foundation in U.S. financial regulatory issues, including consumer protection, payment rails, and partner-bank/processor models.
  • Solid drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to handle a high volume of agreements efficiently.
  • Excellent product-counseling instincts, able to convert ambiguity into practical guidance and tradeoff recommendations.
  • J.D. degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence cross-functionally in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day product and regulatory legal counsel for U.S.-focused financial technology and payments initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams from design through launch to ensure compliance with consumer protection, payments, and banking regulations.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage customer agreements, terms, and disclosures to support scalable commercial operations.
  • Translate recurring legal questions into reusable playbooks, checklists, and templates to increase team efficiency.
  • Support strategic decision-making by identifying regulatory risks and offering pragmatic, actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain consistent contracting standards, cycle times, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a generalist contributor, taking ownership of complex projects as they arise.
