Requirements

  • Master’s degree(or foreign degree equivalent) in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field and 1 year of work experience in job offered or in an engineering-related occupation
  • Experience must include 1 year of experience in the following:
  • Cost model/ structure analysis
  • New Product Introduction (NPI management)
  • Cost risk, cost optimization, and opportunity management
  • Program and Project management methodologies
  • Data analysis and data modeling
  • Statistical analysis
  • Strategic planning
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Data visualization tools (Tableau/ Power BI), MATLAB, R, and MySQL Database
  • Supply chain management and
  • Product Development Process of consumer electronics

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical expertise to assess and drive financial health of assigned VR (virtual reality) products from initial concept through mass production.
  • Use technical expertise to drive engineering and the supply chain team to meet program cost targets at a product and commodity level for projects.
  • Challenge hardware teams at a technical level to run DOEs to enable cost down efforts from a technology standpoint.
  • Track the program actual costs versus target to identify program deltas and corrective actions to bring back on track.
  • Outline, report, and track all program risks and opportunities related to product cost and drive them to closure.
  • Drive cross-functional cost reviews to report out actual versus target cost and risks and opportunities for each program.
  • Attend program new product introduction meetings to understand the cost implication of engineering and/or process changes.
  • Work with both the global supply management and engineering teams, oversee the establishment of a supplier plan of record (SPOR) for all products.
  • Drive the supply chain and operations team to provide detailed cost reduction forecasts to meet and exceed product goals.
  • Work with the OPM team to create a capital expenditures budget by program.
  • Track actuals to budget and identify opportunities for capital expenditures reduction and capital expenditures reuse on future programs.
  • Apply technical knowledge of consumer electronics, computer hardware, product development, including design, testing, and manufacturing, costing methodologies, and supply chain management.
