We are seeking an attorney to join our Legal Department as Product Compliance Counsel. In this role, you will lead the design, evolution, and production of our commercial insurance products and policy forms. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with insurance coverage, regulatory, or contract drafting experience to transition into a dynamic in-house role that combines legal analysis with business strategy.

  • Lead the drafting, review, revision, and production of policy forms, endorsements, and applications for new and existing commercial insurance products.
  • Translate underwriting objectives and strategies into precise, legally sound policy language.
  • Evaluate existing products and recommend enhancements based on case law developments, regulatory changes, and market trends.
  • Partner with internal legal and compliance teams to ensure all products meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Research and interpret state and federal insurance statutes and regulations as they apply to product design.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align form language and risk appetite.
  • Support underwriting and claims with coverage interpretations, training, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement policy changes into systems and processes.
  • Lead internal initiatives for product standardization, innovation pilots, or compliance audits.
  • Serve as a key legal resource in product-related projects and internal audits.
  • J.D. and active bar license required.
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, product development, regulatory, or contract drafting roles.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lines insurance products and policy form structures.
  • Proven ability to draft, analyze, and interpret insurance policy or contract language and related legal documents.
  • Familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks across states.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with contract lifecycle management tools a plus.
  • Experience with contract language and interpretation from a regulatory and/or litigation perspective a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO forms a plus.
