About The Position

The Product Capability Manager will join the Product Strategy Team within the Individual Life Insurance Product Design and Innovation organization at Prudential. This role focuses on the strategy and definition of new Life Insurance Solutions, requiring thought leadership and critical thinking to lead product design initiatives. The manager will independently drive the execution of product concepts from idea to implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Series 6 or successful completion within the first 6 months.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations on tradeoffs and provide direction on large cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to work with legal and compliance experts to assess new product risks.
  • Strong critical and abstract thinking skills to maintain sophisticated product definitions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey product rules and calculations.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • 5+ years of life insurance experience with a solid understanding of financial services (preferred).
  • Prior experience in product strategy, development, and/or management (preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to develop product calculations (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Drive product feature definition and market research for new product concepts.
  • Assist in prototyping activities for evaluating new product features.
  • Study competitive trends and analyze internal data to identify trends in Prudential's product portfolio.
  • Manage strategic positioning of products and provide direction to the actuarial team during pricing.
  • Liaison throughout the Product Development Process to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
  • Evaluate project deliverables and provide recommendations for informed decision-making on tradeoffs.
  • Develop Product Specifications and Calculations for new features, serving as the expert on product definitions.
  • Ensure accuracy of product requirements and distribution materials for product launches.
