As a dynamic team player, the Product Application Specialist must demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with a passion for providing exceptional customer experiences. This people-oriented position places a strong emphasis on building relationships and applying industry knowledge to solve customer application needs. The role is responsible for handling order processing from the Outside Sales and Field Support Specialist teams and serves as the primary point of contact with customers after the request is handed over. The Product Application Specialist directly supports the success of the sales team and contributes to the company's long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish connections.
  • Attentive listening skills to understand customer needs and respond appropriately.
  • Basic knowledge of customer service principles, focusing on exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and inquiries professionally, seeking to provide satisfactory resolutions.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software applications to process customer-related tasks such as Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle customer interactions effectively.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial supply customer service role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to both customer and internal inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing accurate information about products, services, order status, and delivery expectations.
  • Proactively Identify and address customer needs and concerns and recommend appropriate products and services, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products and services
  • Recommending meaningful complementary items on every transaction.
  • Handle customer escalations promptly, resolving complex issues to maintain a high standard of service.
  • Build customer loyalty through personalized service, exceeding customer expectations and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Effectively manage multiple customer interactions and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expedite same-day processing as needed, providing order confirmations, product suggestions, and website resources.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure process consistency, build rapport, and contribute to weekly pipeline reviews as needed for moving opportunities forward.
  • Utilize CRM and ERP systems effectively to assign opportunities, track customer interactions, monitor open quotes and orders, and ensure follow-up and ongoing satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
