CBS Miami is looking for a bold, innovative, standout newscast producer who knows how to create meaningful newscasts. This producer must be driven, creative, collaborative and have impeccable news judgment and ethics. We’re looking for someone to lead all aspects of the production of a daily newscast and know how to win the big story and showcase your content and talent.
Responsibilities include creating a visually compelling, balanced newscast that is well-paced.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a newsroom leader.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience producing newscasts in a medium-to-large market.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must exhibit deep understanding of journalistic principles and ethics.
• Must be a team player who brings a positive attitude.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Experience on INEWS or equivalent news computer system.
• Experience working with video editing systems.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Create an engaging newscast that feels comprehensive while simultaneously creating moments for news anchors to show command of the information.
• Write conversational, balanced copy that provides the appropriate depth and context.
• React quickly to breaking news and weather.
• Actively participate in editorial meetings and pitch stories regularly.
• Stay organized while managing time, people and other resources.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration through strong communication skills.
• Edit pacers for newscast from desktop computer.
• Work well under deadline pressure.
• Exhibit confidence in the control room.
• Ensure accurate grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Incorporate digital elements into newscasts in a meaningful way.
