About The Position

The Produce Specialist at GOOD EARTH MARKETS is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of freshness, quality and presentation, driving sales and customer satisfaction. The Produce Specialist supports merchandising, trains, team members, monitors inventory and maintains compliance with food safety guidelines to create an exceptional shopping experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to manage overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
• Skill in creating and maintaining an inviting, full, and shoppable department.
• Strong customer service skills to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Competence in quality control to ensure the freshness of products.
• Capability to complete daily tasks that include standing for long periods, as well as repetitive lifting and bending.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Experience with light janitorial tasks performed daily.
• Ability to be positive, energetic, self-motivated, reliable and punctual.
• Flexibility to perform other duties throughout the store as assigned or needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a retail produce department or similar environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality and product assortment standards in the produce department.
• Ensure optimal product levels for shelves and produce coolers.
• Oversee the quality control and freshness of all fruits, vegetables, salads, and grab-and-go products.
• Ensure the produce department is cleaned and sanitized daily, meeting company standards for appearance.
• Manage overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
• Create and maintain an inviting, full, and shoppable department.
• Provide excellent customer experience.
• Complete daily tasks that include standing for long periods of time, as well as repetitive lifting and bending.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Perform light janitorial tasks daily.
• Perform other duties throughout the store as assigned or needed.
