About The Position
The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving desired gross profit and productivity levels while managing the sales and product movement within the produce department. This role involves ordering products, receiving deliveries, and establishing daily work assignments for department personnel. The Produce Manager must follow established guidelines for personnel issues, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Additionally, the manager prepares weekly work schedules, stocks merchandise, and ensures proper pricing and rotation of products based on shelf life. The position requires maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area and operating equipment safely.
