Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in produce, grocery, or inventory management.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Oversee department inventory by analyzing weekly sales reports and ensuring accurate ordering of product and supplies to meet customer demand and company gross profit goals.
  • Partner with the Store Manager on hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and overall supervision of Produce Department team members.
  • Develop and execute localized merchandising plans, including setting up displays for new, seasonal, and promotional items.
  • Ensure timely and accurate ordering to minimize spoilage, shrink, and out-of-stocks.
  • Create employee schedules, oversee training, recognize strong performance, and delegate work assignments to ensure efficient department operations.
  • Control department expenses by improving operational efficiency, managing labor costs, and reducing losses due to shrinkage and pilferage.
  • Stay informed on seasonal produce availability, holiday-specific needs, and food and cooking trends that influence customer demand.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental procedures for receiving merchandise, including product inspection, pricing accuracy, freshness standards, and proper product rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department through effective housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
