About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; may oversee Salad Bar and Fresh-Made operations (where applicable). Produce Operations Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce. Build produce displays; rotate stock and discard outdated or spoiled products. Maintain cleanliness of work area and department. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements for freshness and quality. Ensure proper signing of products, accurate pricing, and Country of Origin Labeling (COOL). Maintain and organize produce cooler. Staff Management Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees (including opening and closing). Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Compliance & Safety Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Comply with workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Implement emergency procedures for equipment and software malfunctions. Comply with company grooming standards and dress code. Inventory & Ordering Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain inventory levels per division directives. Control shrink and costs. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Administrative & Reporting Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Complete and monitor daily log sheets, Fresh-Made Production Chart, sales, labor, and other required paperwork. Attend and participate in sales meetings; communicate sales goals, department performance, and opportunities to employees. Equipment & Tools Use and operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Ensure proper temperature levels for products; comply with labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies. General Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Other necessary and required duties.
