About The Position

The position involves working closely with warehouse management to ensure food safety and compliance in handling perishable items. The role includes inspecting incoming products, maintaining records, and making recommendations regarding damaged goods and repackaging.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Produce (Foodservice, Retail, Grower/Shipper) or similar required.
• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
• Team player with flexibility and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily with buyers and warehouse manager regarding perishable items.
• Inspect and verify Purchase Order quantities for inbound perishable loads.
• Inspect inbound trucks for signs of pests and rodents before unloading.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for receiving, storage, and shipping.
• Document temperatures of inbound loads and report violations to warehouse manager and buyers.
• Manage proper rotation of produce inventory and perishable items.
• Perform daily quality inspections for perishable items.
• Conduct daily date checks and remove outdated products from inventory.
• Complete daily dump and damage report for warehouse supervisor.
