About The Position

The Produce Helper position at Food City involves ensuring efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town.' The role requires maintaining a positive attitude and creating an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. The Produce Helper will assist the produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying all products for processing, as well as rotating merchandise to ensure freshness and quality. Cleaning the department according to company standards and following the food safety program are also essential functions of this role. The Produce Helper is responsible for keeping the workstation neat and clean, sanitizing the department at least twice a day, and adhering to company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create a friendly atmosphere.
• Greet and speak to customers, providing prompt and efficient service.
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products.
• Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean department according to company standards.
• Shock all green leaf vegetables.
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down products.
• Core pineapples.
• Follow the company food safety program.
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean.
• Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
