About The Position

The Produce Helper at Food City is responsible for ensuring efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town.' This role involves maintaining a positive attitude and creating an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. The Produce Helper will greet and speak to customers, providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Additionally, the position includes assisting the produce manager with ordering, receiving, and displaying products, as well as ensuring the freshness and quality of merchandise through proper rotation and cleaning protocols. The Produce Helper will also assist in unloading trucks, breaking down products, and following the company's food safety program. Maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation is essential, and the Produce Helper is expected to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to interact with various levels of individuals daily.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create a friendly atmosphere.
• Greet and speak to customers, providing prompt and efficient service.
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products.
• Rotate merchandise to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean department according to company standards.
• Shock all green leaf vegetables.
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down products.
• Core pineapples.
• Follow the company food safety program.
• Keep workstation and surrounding area neat and clean.
• Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
