About The Position

The Produce Helper position at Food City involves ensuring efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town.' Responsibilities include greeting and speaking to customers, providing prompt and efficient service, assisting the produce manager with ordering, receiving, and displaying products, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the department. The Produce Helper must also adhere to the company's food safety program and maintain a neat and clean workstation.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to interact with various levels of individuals daily.
• Ability to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create a friendly atmosphere.
• Greet and speak to customers, providing prompt and courteous service.
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products.
• Rotate merchandise to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean department according to company standards.
• Shock all green leaf vegetables.
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down products.
• Core pineapples.
• Follow the company food safety program.
• Keep workstation and surrounding area neat and clean.
• Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
