About The Position

The Produce Helper position at Food City involves ensuring efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town.' The role requires maintaining a positive attitude and creating an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. Responsibilities include greeting and speaking to customers, providing prompt and efficient service, assisting the produce manager with ordering and displaying products, rotating merchandise for freshness, cleaning the department, unloading trucks, and following food safety protocols. The Produce Helper must keep their workstation neat and clean and ensure the department is sanitized at least twice a day. Attendance during scheduled shifts is mandatory to adhere to company policies.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and create a friendly atmosphere.
• Generate a positive working environment with a customer-first initiative.
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products.
• Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean department according to company standards.
• Shock all green leaf vegetables.
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down products.
• Core pineapples.
• Follow the company food safety program.
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean.
• Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
