About The Position

The position involves implementing all company and division policies to achieve maximum sales and profits in the produce departments. The candidate must be flexible and willing to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. A comprehensive understanding of all key components of department operations is essential, including managing people, merchandising, computer-assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer service, labor scheduling, and expense control.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Understanding of produce operations and general store operations.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to make quick, intelligent decisions.
  • Experience in produce work or similar food preparation experience.
  • Dependable work record reflecting integrity.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.

Responsibilities

  • Implement company and division policies to maximize sales and profits in the produce department.

  • Manage all aspects of department operations including staffing, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and supervision.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure maximum customer relations.
  • Supervise salad bar operations and ensure proper training of department employees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the produce department.
  • Analyze department operations and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Plan and organize work schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the store manager and/or supervisor.
