About The Position

The position involves implementing all company and division policies to achieve maximum sales and profits in the produce departments. The role requires flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. A comprehensive understanding of all key components of department operations is essential, including managing people, merchandising, computer-assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, and expense control. The position demands effective communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and the capability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive impression on associates and customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in produce work or similar experience in food preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Implement company and division policies to maximize sales and profits in the produce department.

  • Manage all aspects of department operations including staffing, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and supervision.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure maximum customer relations.
  • Supervise salad bar operations and ensure proper training of department employees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the produce department.
  • Analyze department operations and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Plan and organize work schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the store manager and/or supervisor.
