About The Position

As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will collaborate with a team to deliver the finest produce presentation and work in the most popular department. This role involves teaching customers about the benefits of fresh produce and delivering an extraordinary customer service experience in a fast-paced and friendly environment. You will be responsible for handling, preparing, and merchandising farm fresh produce to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. This includes sustaining a high level of product knowledge, stocking the Produce department according to schematics, ensuring tag and pricing accuracy, and proper stocking and rotation of merchandise. Key tasks also involve trimming, watering, and merchandising products to maintain freshness and quality, ensuring proper inventory control, and answering customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and is passionate about helping people make healthy choices.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable.
Ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, and holidays.

Be able to perform repetitious activities, and can multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day.
Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using a knife (other than safety cutters).
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using a ladder.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from operating garbage or cardboard compactor.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from operating any motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks).
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time.

Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
Stock the Produce department, which includes presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Produce Department schematics.
Ensure tag and pricing accuracy.
Responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the Produce Department.
Trim, water, and merchandise products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings.
Ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer questions from customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
