About The Position

Come join our Uncle Giuseppe's family as a FT Produce Clerk at our Port Jefferson Station store! If you love our food, you will love our Produce!! In this role you will collaborate with a team to deliver the finest produce presentation for our customers. All of our produce is fresh, and must be handled, prepared and merchandised properly to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction in our store.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
HS diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
Be dependable and reliable
Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor; a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
Strong communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English language
Adhere to all safety, health, weights, and measures regulations

Responsibilities

Responsible for stocking the Produce Department which includes presentation of product, facing, filling, and organizing product items
The Produce Clerk will also be responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the Produce Department, including trimming, watering, and merchandising of products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings
Will also ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability and answers questions from customers in a friendly and helpful manner
Other duties and functions as assigned
