About The Position

Assume duties of other team mates when one is out due to personal or other work related obligations. This may require extra hours during these times. You will receive the required training for any position you are asked to cover for Responsible for assisting produce manager in ordering, ensuring proper receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and building of displays and exceeding health department and food safety standards. Ensure produce shelving and display units are maintained, cleaned and organized. This includes ensuring all products are tagged and/or labeled properly. All product must be properly rotated. Work towards learning all aspects of the current position and position yourself to take on more responsibility to go to the next level. Maintain produce display, prep and storage areas in clean, orderly condition, Assist with monthly department inventories as directed Assist customers with produce questions and special orders. Offer samples and suggestions for purchase and preparation in a friendly, courteous manner. Follow “COOL” (Country of Origin Labeling) guidelines and requirements Trim, wash, bundle produce as needed See that unsellable items are properly disposed of Work with the Produce Manager to research under-performing areas within the department for improvement

Requirements

  • Computer Knowledge
  • Produce background preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers, employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task and maintain focus
  • Must have flexible schedule availability: Nights and Weekend availability required
