About The Position

The Produce Buyer at Albertsons Companies is responsible for the procurement of various commodities, ensuring a high fill rate from distribution centers to stores while maintaining product quality and cost efficiency. This role involves collaboration with suppliers, retail sales teams, and quality control partners to manage inventory levels and support in-store promotions. The position is based in Auburn, WA, and requires strong negotiation and communication skills to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

• 1-2 years purchasing experience.
• 1-2 years of forecasting experience.
• 1-2 years of inventory management experience.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers.
• Strong communication skills using multiple channels.
• Knowledge of produce categories is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple suppliers on securing the best possible cost.
• Forecast demand to create and manage purchase orders based on forecasted quantities.
• Partner with the Retail and Sales Team on promotions and holiday forecasted quantities.
• Responsible for the management of their desk.
• Manage the success of KPIs for their desk.
• Work with Quality Control on any issues from the receiving dock.
• Collaborate with suppliers, store operations, distribution centers, and division personnel to accomplish job functions.
