The role involves planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules, and coordinating material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials that meet production needs. The individual will advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. This includes scheduling equipment and personnel, confirming material supply and demands, and preparing work orders or purchase requests for components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements. The position also requires coordinating interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc., and scheduling and expediting the movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping order requests.
