About The Position

Performs paraprofessional and technical office work involving moderately complex purchasing and administrative tasks according to established procedures, division/departmental guidelines, internal controls, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. Performs entry-level and basic routine administrative support work relating to procurement functions. Work includes the issuance of small dollar purchase orders, term contracts renewal, bond and insurance certificate management, benchmarking research, assisting with the solicitation process, serving as a Division expert in Microsoft Office and fillable documents, and functioning as a person for procurement systems (i.e., VendorLink, Contract Management System, and Workday). Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Chief Procurement Officer. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through review of data/reports, direct observation, and discussions to ensure compliance with prescribed standards, practices, and applicable policies, procedures, and ordinances. Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and two (2) years of technical experience supporting buying and contract administration, preferably in a government environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must be able to help with technical assistance.
  • Must be very organized as work is performed in a multi-tasking environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in the use of spreadsheets, data, and other applications used to track, expedite, and follow up on the work tasks of a multi-person team.
