About The Position

The Procurement Technician position at the Department of Defense (DCMA East) involves providing technical and administrative support for contracting processes. Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in federal service or equivalent in the private sector.
• Experience in performing technical and administrative contracting support by updating and verifying contract documents.
• Ability to resolve routine contract content issues and discrepancies to support contract closeout actions.
• Experience in inputting data into an automated procurement database for statistical reports.
• Strong communication skills to discuss and resolve contract terms with customers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Notify the Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) of required input forms and procedures for contract actions.
• Assist other contracts personnel in resolving issues related to workload, progress payments, and contract closings.
• Influence the achievement of Agency Level Performance Indicators associated with Contract Closeout and Canceling Funds.
• Maintain contact with customers and contractors to resolve difficulties related to scheduling deliveries and meeting purchase agreement terms.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of documents and identify discrepancies for the Contract Administrator.
• Establish and maintain databases to ensure suspense dates are met and contract data reflects contractor performance accurately.
