About The Position

The Purchasing Supervisor leads a team of buyers responsible for managing supply chain operations across assigned product lines. This role drives supply chain optimization, working capital efficiency, and inventory performance. The supervisor collaborates cross-functionally to support financial goals, mentors team members, and leverages data analytics to guide strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Pricing, or a related field, OR 7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Pricing, or a related field without a degree, including 1 years of management/leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated financial and analytical skills.
  • Experience mentoring and managing direct reports.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional team dynamics and problem-solving.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data analytics tools.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external partner relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory aging and buy-in goals to optimize working capital and meet company objectives.
  • Oversee drop ship purchasing metrics including PO cycle times and vendor lead times.
  • Collaborate with category teams to align on revenue, rebate goals, product roadmaps, and offers.
  • Analyze industry trends to identify inventory opportunities and support profitability.
  • Build and maintain relationships across departments to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Lead a team of buyers, including performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Motivate the team to achieve inventory, cost structure, and profitability goals.
  • Use data analytics to monitor and report on inventory performance.
  • Identify future supply chain needs and communicate them to senior leadership.
  • Work with distributors to maintain lead times, fill rates, and ETA accuracy.
  • Provide extended coverage during month-end and quarter-end periods as needed.
